Cuarenta y dos capítulos en los que Dante alterna poesía y prosa, relatando la renovación vital que experimenta el autor al enamorarse. El sentimiento amoroso no realizado aparece como una revelación que, conduciendo a la superación y el olvido de uno mismo, se convierte en una fuente de felicidad. La devoción amorosa se percibe como una felicidad alcanzada, es el efecto de una pasión que da felicidad y se justifica al liberarse de todo aquello que no depende de ella.
About the author
Dante Alighieri (1265-1321), a major Italian poet of the late Middle Ages, has been called the father of the Italian language. His classic masterpiece, The Divine Comedy, is widely considered to be the greatest literary work ever composed in Italian, and his writing has inspired a wide range of artists including sculptor Auguste Rodin, composer Franz Liszt, and numerous authors, such as Geoffrey Chaucer, John Milton, and T.S. Eliot.
