Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, Professor of Tibetan and Buddhist Studies in the department of Chinese and Tibetan languages at Panjab University did his M.A. in Buddhist Studies from University of Delhi and Ph. D. from Panjab University. Professor Singh has authored two books. His first book “Sects in Tibetan Buddhism; comparison of Practices Between Gelugpa and Nyingmapa Sects” has been inducted in the curriculum of many universities of Indian and abroad. His recently published book in Hindi “Baudh dharma Aur Tibbati Parmaparayen (बौद्ध धर्म और तिब्बती परम्पराएं)” has received applause with open hands in the academic world. He has contributed more than 25 research papers in national and International journals and magazines. Professor Vijay Kumar Singh is member of many national and International academic bodies. At Conferences and Seminar in India and abroad, Professor Singh has underlined the importance of Tibetan Language in the restoration work of the lost treatises of Buddhist treatises. Presently He is Chairperson and Head in the Department of Chinese and Tibetan Languages at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
