About the author
Voltaire (1694–1778), französischer Schriftsteller und Philosoph, gilt als einer der herausragenden und produktivsten Akteure der französischen Aufklärung und als einer der schärfsten Kirchenkritiker seiner Zeit.
Dieter Meier, geb. 1945, war im Reclam Verlag lange Zeit verantwortlich für die Anglistik und Romanistik und arbeitet als freier Lektor und Übersetzer.
