About this eBook

For Hudson, the newly titled Viscount Stildon, moving to England from India where he was born and raised was already an arduous enough endeavor. When he learns the fate of the racing empire he inherited along with his title depends upon him getting in the good graces of another stable owner, he's even more at a loss.

The stable at the neighboring estate has been Miss Bianca Snowley's refuge for years, and when a strange man appears to be stealing the horses, she jumps to their protection without a second thought. Upon learning Hudson is actually the new owner, she can't help but be intrigued by the area's newest eligible bachelor.

Any thought of romance is quickly set aside, however, when Hudson proposes they work together to secure suitable spouses for each other. As their friendship grows, Hudson and Bianca begin to reconsider what they truly want in life. But will societal expectations and the weight of their responsibilities keep them from pursuing their true desires?

Vying for the Viscount by Kristi Ann Hunter is the first book in her new series Hearts on the Heath. You definitely don't want to miss out on reading this one if you love inspirational historical romances. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books in the wonderful new series! I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

***MOST ENJOYABLE, CLEAN, REGENCY ERA STORY*** ************************************************************************ Started reading mid-day and read until bedtime. Finished in one sitting! The idea of the 2 main characters helping each other find a good match is always interesting. I really like the brothers Aaron and Lord Rigsby. Both are supporting characters. They need to work out their issues & have stories of their own. When old characters show up, particularly form Kristi's books, it's especially amusing. The verbal sparring in conversations is witty and adds to the reading. I appreciate that eventually Hudson asks to court Bianca properly and get to know each other better vs simply rushing into marriage. ************************************************************************ "finally - he was going to step into the life he'd been waiting twenty-eight years to live. As the firstborn son of the firstborn son of the sixth Viscount Stildon, Hudson had always known his destiny. Assuming, of course, that he managed to stay alive and fulfill it. Hiding away in India had been enough to protect Hudson from the schemes of a crazed uncle who wanted the title for himself, but it had meant exposure to other dangers." ************************************************************************ ""Whatever have you done with your hair?" Mrs. Snowley sneered as she poured Bianca a cup of tea. "I thought perhaps if I secured it as a windblown look, it would remain the way I left it," Bianca said as she accepted the cup of darkly steeped, bitter tea without sugar or milk. Just the way she hated. Mrs. Snowley pressed her lips together in a tight frown. Bianca merely smiled." ************************************************************************ "If he truly believed God was loving and powerful, wouldn't that mean he could trust that God knew what he was doing?" ************************************************************************ Connect with the author at KristiAnnHunter dot com ************************************************************************ I received a complimentary eBook from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions are my own without compensation or further expectation. ************************************************************************ Bethany House Publishing, 352 Pages, (c) August 4, 2020 ************************************************************************ 4.5 STARS

From the very first (and beautifully ironic) line, Vying for the Viscount drew me in, not letting go until I read the very last, satisfying word. The romance was lovely, the humour brilliant, and the characters endearing. The faith elements and character growth were handled superbly. The cast of supporting characters was excellent, providing the perfect balance of fun, drama, and wisdom, and setting the stage for future escapades. I really enjoyed the appearance of a few familiar faces from Kristi Ann Hunter’s previous books. It’s always fun to guess who is going to show up in each new release. Vying for the Viscount is the well-written blend of a strong plot, gorgeous writing, and engaging characters. I’d recommend it to fans of Christian Historical Romance, Jane Austen, Regency Romance, and Horse-related romance. (I received a copy of this book from the author for review purposes. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.)
