Volker Leppin, geb. 1966, ist Professor für Kirchengeschichte in Jena und Mitglied der Sächsischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in der Theologie und Frömmigkeit des späten Mittelalters, der Reformationszeit und der Aufklärung.
