About this ebook

In The Backlash, Liberal columnist and Pulitzer Prize-winning political reporter Will Bunch goes behind the scenes of America’s new extreme right-wing minority to explore how their campaign of misinformation, their distortion of President Obama, and their collective fear of the future combine to pose a very real threat to our democratic system. From health care reform to immigration policies, The Backlash is a gripping investigation into the emerging voice of the dangerous American right wing.

This just proves that the unrighteous establishment is scared stiff..The pathetic thing is that even the little orphan Annie looked like top tier literature in comparison to this ridiculously ignorant tripe. The funny thing is that the Canadians that commented about being glad they are Canadian is I couldn't agree more. We are glad as well. Canada has always attempted to be a British/American hybrid and failed miserably on both fronts. Stick to what you know best, french fries and vinegar

A. Yes. Bunch is a liberal-minded person, but he is writing about so-called conservatives, actually people on the fringe of conservatism. Q. So his analysis is a little slanted? A. If you are a member of these groups, such as the Tea Party, you will not be flattered by what Bunch has to say. At one point, he even mentions that some observers see these people as cartoon-like conservatives. That's the way the whole book portrays them: not actually dangerous but just odd people, almost funny in many cases. I think in some cases he demeans the people. His dislike shows throughout the book, but I guess this is his axe to grind. Q. Is this the first book you have read of his? A. Yes. Q. Was it interesting? A. It was. It goes fast. Bunch has an intriguing writing style, using interesting idioms, metaphors, similes, and such. He keeps the pace just right and never gets bogged down with too much detail. He never really aroused my fear of these people, the fringe conservative types, although he cites many tragedies possibly resulting from their quest (and possibly not). But to me it was just entertaining, like, my, how lost people can get in politics. They seem to lose total insight into themselves, but it gives them something to do if they are retired or unemployed. "Most busy activities are frantic evasions of the real business of facing and finding oneself." Vernon Howard. Q. But didn't some tragic murders occur as the result of the fears of these people? A. The lost individuals committed the murders, not the conservative fringe groups. In the case of Richard Poplawski, the convicted murderer, he had a chance to do right, in the Marines, but he seemed to let his aggression spill out when it should have been controlled. His mother made it worse. Yes, his father was absent and he had no siblings, but he put himself in the role of cop murderer, nobody else. Q. So you found Bunch's book entertaining but not really frightening? A. That's about it, and, unfortunately, he could only cover up until about the middle of 2010, so now he needs to write a follow up. And he's to be commended on keeping on the track of these people, a diverse crew including politicians, wealthy people, and everyday people. It obviously took a lot of running around and traveling to gather all this information over a period of five or six years or more.

Has NO clue as to the political belief system of our founding fathers. BillBunch would do well with the likes of bolshevik Jews like Trotsky, Lenin, Stalin etc... If you are looking for fair and balanced. This isnt it. pk
