About the author
Abogado y profesor emérito de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Impartió por varias décadas el curso Derecho del Trabajo y de Seguridad Social en esta universidad y cursos de posgrado en la Universidad de Chile. Colaboró con el Padre Hurtado entre 1941 y 1952. Ministro de Trabajo y Previsión Social (1964-1968) y de Justicia (1968) y miembro del Consejo Ejecutivo de UNESCO entre 1974 y 1978. Fue senador entre 1990 y 1998. Es miembro de número de la Academia de Ciencias Sociales, Políticas y Morales del Instituto de Chile y autor de numerosas publicaciones jurídicas.
