Every human being has a need related to his or her condition. In his Gospel, John uses nine cases to represent the various conditions and needs of human beings in order to illustrate that Jesus Christ as life fully meets the need of man's every case. In this booklet taken from Life-study of John, Witness Lee focuses on the third of these nine cases, that of the son of a royal official. The official’s son was dying, and through his situation, the Lord showed the third need of mankind—the need of life’s healing. The older we get, the more we are impressed with the shortness of life. Apparently we are living, but actually we all are in the process of dying. We are weak and fragile and in need of healing. But just as the official’s son received the healing in John 4, so also can we receive life’s healing today.

These little books provide much truth about salvation and the high gospel that was lacking for so long, so essential for our spiritual growth unto glory. I wandered so much in Christianity and yet I found myself coming back to this ministry over and over again, to satisfy the spirit with such deep revelations about our lord Jesus and God's economy plan.

About the author
Born in 1905 in northern China, Witness Lee was raised in a Christian family and educated in English-speaking schools. At the age of 19 he believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and consecrated himself to preach the gospel. Early in his service, Witness Lee met Watchman Nee and began to labor together with him. In 1949 Witness Lee was sent by Watchman Nee to Taiwan to ensure that the things delivered to them by the Lord would be preserved. In 1962 Witness Lee came to the United States and began to minister here. He ministered in weekly conferences, delivering several thousand spoken messages until 1997. He gave his last public conference in February 1997 at the age of 91. His major work, Life-Study of the Bible, comprises over 25,000 pages of commentary on every book of the Bible from the perspective of the believers' enjoyment and experience of God's divine life in Christ through the Spirit.
