About this ebook

Journey to the West is a Chinese novel published in the 16th century during the Ming dynasty and attributed to Wu Cheng'en. It is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. In English-speaking countries, the work is widely known as Monkey, the title of Arthur Waley's popular abridged translation.

Very good story and great translation. There are some spelling errors and grammar problems, but for the most part the story is understandable. Some parts of the original story were left out of this version, but besides that it was a great read.

Wu Cheng'en (simplified Chinese: 吴承恩; traditional Chinese: 吳承恩; pinyin: Wú Chéng'ēn; Wade–Giles: Wu Ch'êng-ên, c. 1500–1582 or 1505–1580), Chinese novelist and poet of the Ming Dynasty.

Arthur David Waley CH CBE (born Arthur David Schloss, 19 August 1889 – 27 June 1966) was an English Orientalist and sinologist.
