About this eBook

What happens when the one that got away comes back? Find out in this sparkling comedy from #1 bestseller Mhairi McFarlane

‘Think of the great duos of history. We're just like them.’

‘You mean like Kylie and Jason? Torvill and Dean? Sonny and Cher?’

‘I think you’ve missed the point, Rachel.’

Rachel and Ben. Ben and Rachel. It was them against the world. Until it all fell apart. It’s been a decade since they last spoke, but when Rachel bumps into Ben one rainy day, the years melt away.

They’d been partners in crime and the best of friends. But life has moved on: Ben is married. Rachel is not. Yet in that split second, Rachel feels the old friendship return. And along with it, the broken heart she’s never been able to mend.

Hilarious, heartbreaking and everything in between, you’ll be hooked from their first ‘hello’.

‘Very very witty and funny. Left me in awe ... a total gem’ Marian Keyes

‘The funniest, most romantic book I've read since One Day’ Lisa Jewell

Re-read all Mhairi McFarlane's books now because I can't find another author who catches your interest immediately, holds you right through with witty banter, a good main plot and interesting side plots, laughs and obsession with characters while laying in bed wondering what's gonna happen to them??? And I have to say, it holds up the 2nd (and third, in the case of 'who's that girl') time just the same!

For a typical rom com book it's great. Loved the characters, loved the plot. I couldn't put the book down, read it in two days. The book has funny and cringe worthy moments everything you want it to have. The ending was predictable but hey, that's why we read this genre to be left feeling happy. The author has included some funny and note worthy article's which boost up the star rating. Happy reading,

Amazing. Absolutely Amazing. Unimaginable Amazing. I don't think I've laughed and cried so many times in one day. From the beginning of the prologue and right through til the end, I was absolutely captivated. Mhairi McFarlane introduces real issues into this laugh out loud, dramatic story and ends it with a fairy tail ending. I've read so many books among the fiction and the fantasy but this would have to be at the top of the list. But don't take my word or anyone else's word for it, you'll never know how you feel until you read it for yourself. Enjoy =)

About the author

Mhairi was born in Scotland in 1976 and has been explaining how to pronounce her name ever since. (With a ‘V’, not an ‘M’. Yes, that’s us crazy Celts for you).

She is based in Nottingham where she used to be a local journalist and now she’s a freelance writer and sometime-blogger, which we all know is code for messing about on Twitter.

She likes drinking wine, eating food and obtaining clothes; all the impressive hobbies. Her best anecdotes involve dislocating her elbow tripping over a briefcase and a very bad flight to New York. She lives with a man and a cat.
