Viper Spaulding
I adore this author's voice! Every time I start a new Marina Adair book, I'm instantly reminded how much I love her writing style. She packs so much descriptive, insightful detail into every sentence, with words that just flow so easily that reading along is like floating down the river on an inflatable raft. Every book is simply a joy to read, and this one is no exception. Evie and Jonah have history - as friends - she's the one who introduced him to his late wife years before. Now, he's dealing with single parenting as a recent widower, whereas Evie has always been a single mom to her teen, whose ne'er-do-well father left before she was even born. It's this friendship that comes to the rescue when Evie finds herself the target of a little too much attention when she tries to drum up some internet notoriety to save her family's coffee shop. As fake relationships never stay fake for long, this romance has all the steam and angst and heartwarming intimacy that a romance reader could want. Add in a delightful array of friends and family and this book will just draw you in and hold you captive from the first page to the last. It's full of heart, with several romances brewing in the background and characters that you'll hold in your heart for a very long time. Everything this author writes is gold, and this latest nugget is a real gem. Highly recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
