I thought things would be simpler when I left Alana behind. And for a little while, they were.

I fell for Kam.

I found a family. A home. People who loved me for who I was—at least, who I thought I was.

Then it all fell apart.

I’m stronger than she knows. I won’t let anyone, or anything hurt my baby. But there’s myself to think of too.
