About this ebook

In a dump in the lawless settlement of Scrapyard, far beneath the mysterious space city of Zalem, disgraced cyber-doctor Daisuke Ido makes a strange find: the detached head of a cyborg woman who has lost all her memories. He names her Alita and equips her with a powerful new body, the Berserker. While Alita remembers no details of her former life, a moment of desperation reawakens in her nerves the legendary school of martial arts known as Panzer Kunst. In a place where there is no justice but what people make for themselves, Alita decides to become a hunter-killer, tracking down and taking out those who prey on the weak. But can she hold onto her humanity as she begins to revel in her own bloodlust?

In the future, a girl is saved by a man and given new life as Alita. Then a champion decides that he wants Alita and will kill to do it. Who will stand against him? I enjoyed the first volume, but I don't think that I will continue to read the series. Worth a read

I started reading this and I just couldn't stop until I reached the end! Whoops! I saw the new live action film before reading this, and I was surprised on how close the first half of that movie was to this book. It's a bit surprising that the book has more gore than the film; I guess they wouldn't be able to get that PG-13 rating if they did a complete adaption of this book. The live action movie was awesome, this book is awesome, and I love that it seems they took the time to produce a high quality scan of the book! I did not expect it to look so amazing on an huge 11 inch screen tablet!

Really good read! I love the way the story captures the similarities to the movie. It really makes you feel more invested into the universe and mind of Alita. Definitely worth the buy! Especially at $0.99 right now! Can't wait to read the others!
