I am re-reading this book after a decade of being an involved member of both charismatic and non-charismatic churches. This is a great book: straightforward, inspiring, and shows from the Scripture that a cessationist argument is founded only on tradition and lack of experience. This book will be a help to anyone who is struggling with believing what the Bible says about the gifts of the Holy Spirit when tradition says that the miraculous gifts are not for today.

Jack Deere, formerly an associate professor of Old Testament at Dallas Theological Seminary, is a writer and lecturer who speaks throughout the world on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He is the author of the best-selling book, Surprised by the Power of the Spirit.
