Acerca deste livro eletrónico

The saga that led to the decline of the British Empire, especially in colonial Africa. Based on true events. A call to war! The British, in command of South Africa, decide the best course of action is to goad the non-compliant Zulus into a battle. The Zulus, armed with only spears would have no chance against the heavily armed British force, representing the best of the world's greatest empire. Arrogance has its price as the British will soon find out as the two prepare for battle. In addition to the comic story, throughout the series background information on the Zulu's, the birth of South Africa, and the rise of Shaka-Zulu is featured in text articles.

THIS ISSUE: The defense of Rorke's Drift. After the annihilation of the main British force at Isandhlwana, the Zulus march on to a lone British outpost at Rorke's Drift. A small band of men hear about the destruction of the main British army but because of the outpost's hospital, they cannot abandon the fort. When they find out thousands of Zulus are coming, roughly 100 men decide to make a stand. In the end it will become the most decorated battle in British history.

"...a well-written recounting of the Zulu War of 1879...gets behind the story to analyze its root causes, the battles of the war, and its long-lasting effects." - Atomic Avenue
