I found myself swept away by the skilled narrative and imaginative concepts at the beginning of this book. Unfortunately, as the story wore on it started to ware out until a startling redux very close to the end. I feel the author is very skilled but maybe lost the plot towards the middle and rushed the ending. Also, the hallucinatory tangents throughout were difficult to read and didn't add to the story. Otherwise a very enjoyable book.

Tad Williams is a California-based fantasy superstar. His genre-creating (and genre-busting) books have sold tens of millions worldwide, in twenty-five languages.
