About the author

David Vaux is one of Britain's most innovative Osteopaths and a renowned strength specialist. He been researching the impact of strength building on living longer for decades, both through academic research and in everyday sessions with his patients. As an authority on strength in older age, he has provided advice to UK health charities, think tanks and healthy ageing steering groups, including the UK Governments Aging society Grand Challenge, David is a leading UK advocate for strength and optimal ageing.

As a second-generation London Firefighter serving operationally during the 90s and 2000s, David became the youngest person to attain the rank of Sub officer in the London Fire Brigade. After 15 years of front-line duty, a career-ending spinal injury forced him to change course. He discovered osteopathy, first as a way of dealing with his own injuries, then - realising how life-changing the practice of movement, balance and strength, can be - he trained as an osteopath and and later-life strength advocate.
