Called to Thailand to help sail the beloved family yacht to the Seychelles, Iris nurtures her own secret hopes for what might happen on the journey. But when she unexpectedly finds herself alone in the middle of the Indian Ocean, everything changes. Now is her chance to take what she's always wanted - the idyllic life she's coveted from afar. But just how far will she go to get the life she's dreamed about? And how far will she go to ensure no one discovers the truth?
Filled with chilling suspense, The Girl in the Mirror is an addictive thriller about greed, lust, secrets and deadly lies.

A really good page turner from Rose Carlyle. This book centres on identical twins Summer and Iris, their sibling rivalry and a will left by their father. It packs a lot into its pages. A lot of the book is set on a yacht sailing from Thailand to the Seychelles. Who is the better twin Summer or Iris? There are that many plot twists I couldn’t decide. Summer seemed to have everything in her life sorted, a gorgeous husband and step son while Iris found hers unraveling, but it wasn’t all as it seemed. At the heart of it was a will, their father had left his estate to the first child of his to marry and have a legitimate baby. Would this be from Summer, Iris, their brother or their step sisters? I loved the fact the book delved into the childhood of Summer and Iris revealing more of their personalities. Just when I thought I had worked out the storyline it changed and kept me turning the pages until the end. I will definitely look for more books in the future by this writer.

Iris and Summer are identical twins, separated in the womb so late that they were nearly conjoined. Growing up Iris became increasingly jealous of Summer's picture perfect life, wishing she could have something similar herself. Then a last minute emergency requires Iris and Summer to set sail together on their Dad's old boat. Alone in the ocean the Iris learns more about the hidden life of her twin, Summer, but could her jealousy go as far as actually wanting her life? I found this book to be a really good fast paced thriller which I couldn't put down. With shocks and surprises until the very end I couldn't have guessed the ending. There was the odd twist throughout the book but most of the shocks were saved for towards the end. This worked well but they could maybe have been interspersed slightly more evenly. Overall it was a really good thriller.

Initially I did struggle with this one, it seemed to go on for a while without much happening. But I can't tell you how glad I am I stuck with it. I gave it 5 stars. Its was brilliant, blew me away. I had so many emotions reading this. And where the ending was concerned, again I was completly blown away. I ended feeling incredibly anxious reading this as if I was Iris myself. Another one I recommend a read. Loved it.
