About this ebook

Dark. Magical. Powerful. Beastly.

Aslan McTavish is the Magical Beast King who rules the Forbidden Forest, one of the nine kingdoms in the Aurora Realm.

My name is Lilly, and I have lived in the basement of a manor all my life with my beloved mother, working away like a pair of slaves for the people who live in comfort upstairs. After my mother’s death, I am told that I am to be sacrificed to the magical beast who rules the Forbidden Forest, in return for the village’s protection, wealth, and prosperity.

Refusing to resign myself to my fate, I plan to escape, only to be caught again by none other than the beast himself, whose demonic mask and beautiful green eyes both frighten and fascinate me.

Thus, begins the story of the Beast and I.

The Beast and I is an alternative retelling of the beloved fairy tale Beauty and the Beast, set in the Aurora Realm, where paranormal creatures reside, magical power and technology go hand in hand, and love is a forever thing.

My giving the book a one star is not because l hated it. I totally loved it. I hope to draw the attention of everyone 😂 including the author if possible, to a question l have. To me this book is very incomplete. I had the assumption that, there was a part 2 or 3. The obvious reason being, in the Beauty and the Beast original, the Beast and his kingdom were cursed. This story led us to believe, something if not a curse, happened, something that Only Lilly could fix. What happened there??? Or am l missing whole chapters from my book. I also noticed that somewhere in book 4 or whatever, there is a (cameo) of their story. I have not read those 2 books. Is a cameo going to be enough to cover the whole history of what happened to Aslan and his Kingdom and how Lilly fits in ? The book was good. Too good. This is a downside that l am confused 🤔 how the author didn't notice. Is Aslan originally a beast who was cursed to be a man who wears a mask? What happens next?

I am really enjoying reading this series. The characters are likeable and exploring the realm with the characters is interesting. Only thing I find a little annoying is over use of the occasional phrase like "to his/her heart's content". There are other ways to say it like satisfaction or completely, etc. Other than that it's a fun read.
