About this ebook

Can it ever get better? This is the question Benjamin Watson is asking. In a country aflame with the fallout from the racial divide—in which Ferguson, Charleston, and the Confederate flag dominate the national news, daily seeming to rip the wounds open ever wider—is there hope for honest and healing conversation? For finally coming to understand each other on issues that are ultimately about so much more than black and white?

An NFL tight end for the New Orleans Saints and a widely read and followed commentator on social media, Watson has taken the Internet by storm with his remarkable insights about some of the most sensitive and charged topics of our day. Now, in Under Our Skin, Watson draws from his own life, his family legacy, and his role as a husband and father to sensitively and honestly examine both sides of the race debate and appeal to the power and possibility of faith as a step toward healing.

As I digest the many avenues taken within the dark corners of this book my own thoughts and emotions from anger to pride would emerge. At times all your thinking is, boy, this guy is one raciest individual. That is until you see and understand the man, his love for God, and must of all the message within the story line. Read it from cover to cover and pass the Love of God along.

I had the date marked on calender for a while in anticipation of this book. It did not disappoint. Ben takes us to a place in our hearts that we all need to look and understand. His thoughts on race issues today are eye opening. Only through a change of heart will we ever become a unified human race again. Thanks Ben for the words you wrote.

When I came to USA 6 years ago, I experienced certain level of racism and bullying, I strugled with forgiveness but then I saw my own sin and thankfully God intervened. Now that I know some of the atrocities suffered by blacks, I see that my situation is almost non relevant!. Love that instead of being a self pity book, Watson has a forgiving spirit and a willing heart to reconcile and be accountable to God (instead of blamming others) the best part is that he has a new heart in Christ and he knows whom he belongs, Watson is making a difference in his life and family, a dinasty of godly african americans, insteaf of sitting down just counting the wrongs. I liked the point of "intentional friendship", I think is very necessary and is worth the effort. You cant forgive if you havent been forgiven. Personally, this book brings new light about race history in this country, God bless your soul and family.
