About this ebook

Is their love the perfect Christmas gift…or a curse?

Allan D’Alessandro thought he had his ticket out of Hell secured. Until his alleged “soul mate” bailed, leaving him only three weeks — three weeks — to lose his heart and be loved in return. For real. Or for real he can kiss the Hollywood glamor, the hilltop house, the Tesla roadster goodbye. And say hello to his old job as Asmodeus, object of his fellow demons’ eternal derision.

But there’s that aquamarine-eyed wedding planner who pulled off Lucifer’s nuptials without a hitch. She’s all about romance, right? Wooing her should be a piece of cake. Wedding cake, if he plays his cards right.

Belinda Carson has had to get used to letting men walk out of her life. She has no choice — any man who falls in love with a Carson witch is guaranteed a gruesome fate. So she uses her magic to create perfect weddings…just not her own.

But surely there’s no harm in indulging in a harmless holiday fling with the sandy-haired Hollywood agent whose megawatt smile lights up her world. After New Year’s, they’ll go their separate ways. They’ve agreed. It’s all set.

Except he’s dismantled all her defenses. And this time, her heart isn’t letting go….

Christine Pope’s “Charmed, I’m Sure” is the second book in her “The Devil You Know” series which is a heart-rending yet uplifting story. Belinda Carson is a witch and a wedding/event planner. Belinda was cursed, along with all the past females throughout the Carson generations. The curse specifically would cause any man who fell in love with a Carson Witch to be guaranteed a gruesome fate. Then Belinda finds herself being called to plan an event for a certain very attractive male. What she wasn’t prepared for was falling in love with this man. The man turns out to be Allan D’Alessandro, a Devil, who is tired of managing Hell and asks God to let him stay on Earth. God stipulated that this can only happen if the Devil falls in love and makes this woman fall back in love with him. There then ensue a very impressive, intriguing and touching romance between Belinda and Allan. But for one small problem, because of the curse Belinda cannot allow Allan to fall in love with her. Christine Pope is a superb author and her books never fail to bring to life her characters while you get the actual feel and experience of the storyline. I highly recommend this book and the previous book in the series “Sympathy for the Devil” Book #1. They are both a must read.

Charmed, I’m Sure is the second book in the Devil You Know series. It’s a charming (pun intended) feel good romance. This can be read as a stand alone, you don’t need to have read the first book. It’s a great read for anyone who likes somewhat forbidden romance stories, as is the case with Allan and Belinda. He’s the devil who meets and falls for his soulmate, while she’s the witch whose family has been cursed to lose the ones who love them. It’s a great book that was full of heartbreak and romance. As always, Christine has created characters in a world that just make you fall in love. This is a definite good read and one that I recommend. I did receive an ARC but this has no effect on my review.

This is the story of Asmodeus, a demon from Hell, now known as Allan D’Allesandro and Belinda, a witch whose female family line was cursed to never have a lifelong love. It is book 2 in the Devil You Know series by Christine Pope. I was fortunate to be provided an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. I liked this book but didn’t love it probably because I have a strong faith and initially with this book and the first in the series “Sympathy for the Devil” I had to get over the fact that I was reading about the Devil and a demon from Hell involved in romantic relationships. Both books started out a little slow but they both really picked up. I was routing for both heroes midway thru both books. Ms Pope does a great job of conveying the angst Belinda lives with regarding her curse and its consequences. She also shows Allan’s character growth from his assumption it won’t be that hard to find love before his New Year’s Eve deadline to return to Hell and actually falling in love. I also must say that God’s appearances in both books were how I would like to envision God and his interactions with us mere mortals. I am looking forward to how the author manages to transform Beelzebub into a romantic lead in the next book…I pretty much wanted to drop kick him back to Hell multiple times in both books.
