What a phenomenal read. A beautiful story Also a story of healing. Dev, Pris, and Bailey find out their mother had a secret life no one knew about. They only found out upon her death. They decide to go to Positano, Italy where it all began and try to find the infamous R. A man who was part of their mother’s life before they were born and continued to be in their mother’s life until her death. From the letters they found a man who she deeply loved for years. This story is also a story of understanding and a way to bring these three women together again while trying to figure out a part of their mother’s life no one knew about. A life with a man they never knew but held their mother’s heart through years of love letters. I could not put this book down. A beautiful story filled with love, tears, happiness, and sadness. Choices made that not only effect one but all the lives of those we love. Jennifer Probst once again proves what an amazing author she is. A secret that was kept for years and only found out at Olivia’s death. A love that lasted for years through letters only Olivia and R shared. Such an incredible, fantastic, and beautiful read.

The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is a wonderful woman's fiction story about three estranged sisters who traveled to Italy in search of more information regarding their recently deceased mother. Jennifer Probst has a distinctive descriptive way of describing scenes that makes the reader feel part of the experience. Olivia passes away from Pneoumia when her daughters, Priscilla Hampton, Devon, and Bailey Moretti, come together to do the unthinkable go through their mom's stuff to place their childhood home on the market. The girls find a stack of hidden love letters deep within her closet in a chest. The love letters are express so much emotion but signed only with an initial, the sender's mystery begins, and the trip to the Amalfi Coast. Positano holds answers to secrets about the sister's estranged relationship with each other, stuff they never discussed or admitted to themselves, all while trying to find the mystery man. What a fabulous gift to a reader! I loved this story.

4.25 stars--THE SECRETS LOVE LETTERS OF OLIVE MORETTI by Jennifer Probst is a contemporary, adult, stand alone story of women’s fiction focusing on three sisters: Bailey, Priscilla and Devon Clayton, who after the death of their mother, find a deed to a house in Positano Italy, and a stack of love letters addressed to their mom Olivia Moretti. As the girls go in search for the truth, Bailey, Priscilla and Devon will discover much more than they could have ever imagined. Told from first person perspective (Olivia) and three third person points of view (Priscilla, Bailey and Devon) following two timelines, THE SECRET LOVE LETTERS OF OLIVIA MORETTI is a story of one woman who found love while on vacation in Positano Italy. Priscilla, Bailey and Devon Clayton have struggled for years with their place in the family, including their fractured relationship with one another. Having survived the divorce of their parents, the sisters never suspected their mother’s secret, a secret Olivia would take to the grave. Priscilla the eldest, is a former ballerina with the New York City Ballet, married with an adult son but her marriage has hit a rough patch; Bailey is an actress who has yet to make it big on the stage; and Devon is a professor at NYCU, passed over for tenure one more time. With the discovery of the deed and the love letters, the sisters make plans to visit the town where their mother first fell in love, hoping to find the man they know nothing about. THE SECRET LOVE LETTERS OF OLIVIA MORETTI is a story of secrets and family, love and loss, acceptance and forgiveness. A familiar tale, one I have read many times before, THE SECRET LOVE LETTER OF OLIVIA MORETTI dwells not only on past regrets but on forgiveness and understanding. As the Clayton sisters search for the man their mother once loved, our heroines will find their way back to one another, in the face of grief and loss. The premise is strong and though provoking; the characters are struggling, stubborn, sensitive and flawed.
