A substantially crueller journey mid way through the book (at least he left it to the end of 'This is going to hurt'). Such an incredibly easy read and sings to my little NHS born/raised/recruited heart! Sadly very short, but so very inspiring. Thank you for your service!

Heart warming and touching. Made me laugh out loud and made me cry in public, really makes you appreciate the wonderful staff working in the NHS whose missing their family time to make sure people get the help they need. 100% recommend this book.

The book was amazing! It was extremely well written and for an aspiring medical student like myself, it was inspiring and a major eye opener! I can’t wait for Adam Kay to write a third if he plans on it and seeing as he misses the profession, hopefully goes back in to pursue becoming a Consultant.
About the author
Adam Kay is an award-winning comedian and author of the multi-million-copy bestseller This is Going to Hurt and the festive diaries Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas. He previously worked as a junior doctor, which is hopefully clear by now. He lives in Oxfordshire.
