She knows you better than you know yourself.

Karen is meant to be the one who fixes problems.

It's her job, as a psychiatrist - and it's always been her role as a friend.

But Jessica is different. She should be the patient, the one that Karen helps.

But she knows things about Karen. Her friends, her personal life. Things no patient should know.

And Karen is starting to wonder if she should have let her in . . .

A chilling, unputdownable thriller from the bestselling author of How I Lost You. Fans of Claire Douglas, Gillian McAllister and Cara Hunter.

If you like psychology this book is FULL of it! For me, this book wasn't one of those "I was hooked from page 1" books and I didn't like it much until about page 70, (I think it was the writing style), then it picked up & "snowballed" until I was absolutely engrossed! It really gets you thinking about yourself & the ending is stunning! I've just read 25 psychological thrillers & this has the best ending of all of them! It really got to me like no other book has. SO glad I didn't give up on it. Fantastic!!

This was so intense and I couldn't put it down until I finished it! It gets you thinking and speculating from the beginning, and keeps you guessing until the end. It tells the story of three best friends in their thirties, Karen, Eleanor and Bea. Their lives are changed by the arrival of Jessica, Karen's new patient. The characters just come off the page, the plot keeps twisting and makes you think about relationships (both romantic and friendships) from interesting perspectives. It is a fantastic book and I'm planning to read "How I lost you" - I hope it's as gripping as this one!

Page turning and gripping. Read virtually in one sitting. I was actually more hooked on this one than the first novel by Jenny. The first had lots of shocking revelations throughout and it was very much a "whodunnit" as I had no clue who was behind it all until virtually the end. But this book made you think more with every chapter. Very different indeed. I'm looking forward to the next novel from Jenny.

About the author

Jenny Blackhurst grew up in Shropshire where she still lives with her husband and children. Growing up she spent hours reading and talking about crime novels - writing her own seemed like natural progression. Inspired by the emotions she felt around her own son's birth, How I Lost You is Jenny's thrilling debut crime novel.
