This is my all time favorite read, must have re-read this over 30 times. You really get taken back to moments in you own history, which help you visualise the whole compelling, funny and witty story.

An experience of a life, rather than a story. Full of charm and atmosphere, a nice combination of expected scenarios followed in an unexpected way... A bit long for my taste.

About the author
Iain Banks came to widespread and controversial public notice with the publication of his first novel, The Wasp Factory, in 1984. He gained enormous popular and critical acclaim for both his mainstream and his science fiction novels. Iain Banks died in June 2013.
