About this ebook

Seth Kada, a deep-cover agent working for the Commonwealth, has tracked a group of rebels to the remote Tayako Orbiter. But before he can seize them, the rebels are captured by a powerful rival faction and spirited away.

Seth re-captures one of the rebels, a subspace navigator named Ciela, and soon realizes that her crew's origin and purpose are far more pivotal than anyone could have suspected.

Caught up in a violent clash between rebel factions, Seth and Ciela's divergent loyalties must be put aside to prevent the destruction of a peaceful civilization - and find her people before their ultimate destiny is realized.

Seth's journey continues, his motives and love life confront his own beliefs while he attempts to help a Spanner find her group of other spanners all of which unheard of talents that become all too clear to Seth that the more he becomes aware of her potential the more dangerous she and the others pose to virtually every sentient beings and their worlds. All the while he has to undo the terrible brainwashing and lies convincing her that there are black and white lines of who to trust or not. If he does what's best by her she won't be able to trust any side including his. As he becomes aware of which planet she is truly from his love for her and his sense of what is righteous means the more they both grow towards each other the more certain he becomes that he must convince her she needs and deserves to leave him behind to become who she was born to be and probably the best chance for all the world's safety from her skills becoming a danger to them all. But will Seth be able to turn his back on his own heart and she for him. This book has so many twists and turns where opportunity and choices for love, intrigue, vengeance and confidence in how people feel and what they will do if given the chance all becomes blurred and confusing when the main characters find that nothing is as clear as they hoped feared and thought originally. As they learn about each other they become so much more confused about virtually all the things they were most clear and certain about in life. A great book that makes it hard to put down. A thoroughly interesting read about interaction when love between two people is growing while at the same time, morals ,outside influences like selfish people who have far too much power and influence muddy the water,It can become hard not to put yourself in their place and wonder what you may have done in their place.

Continuing me review from Quantum Tangle in this second book of the series. This series is an excellent read. It is original and fresh. No rehashing of the same old same old. A different way of looking at how science could evolve. It all seems very well thought out & logical. New interesting alien species and humanoid races helps to make it fresh & new. The psychology of the characters is full and presented without the need to over elaborate. You get a really good connection and just fall into the story. Again, my only complaint, I wish it were longer. A most excellent read!

Terrific book. Plenty of surprises, but the ending was just a little sad. I'm hopeful that later on things will work out for Seth and... someone.

About the author

Living in Canada, it is inevitable that those who lack enthusiasm for snow-related activities tend to stay indoors for a good portion of the year.
Thank goodness for computers. And sci-fi. And eBooks!

I've always loved fantasy worlds and writing about what might be possible, given a certain suspension of disbelief and a rude assault upon the laws of physics.
Since I've always suspected that there is far too much gravity on this planet, I tend to take my people to other worlds.
