But when Zo and Hattie head to Maynard’s mansion to borrow the book for a library event, the only thing they find is Maynard—at the bottom of the mountain. The valuable book is gone. Zo knows this must be murder because there’s no way a germophobe like Maynard would have voluntarily dived into a pile of dirt. Now she’ll have to dig into a new case, and go prospecting for a perpetrator . . .

cozy-mystery, adoption, amateur-sleuth, small-town, small-business, South Dakota, law-enforcement, family, friendship, murder, murder-investigation, books, tarot, lies, secrets, false-information***** Was he murdered to get the book? Is someone planting clues that point away from the murderer? Why would someone actually kill for the information in the book? Does it have any information in it that will help Zo unlock her questions about who her family might be and why she was abandoned at the police station as an infant? Lots of very interesting characters in a rarely utilized setting. Good plot with enough twists to make me nutz and red herrings to make me keep turning pages. A good read!
