I was so interested in this book from the free sample, I ended up buying it. The book was great for about 3/4, but ended up.. blah. I was promised a story with a serial killer, dead kids and a dose of the supernatural. However, there is no supernatural, which was a huge selling point for me, instead, got the bog standard tired trope of a killer that likes to taunt cops.. :: yawn::

(No Spoilers). 3.5 Stars. Approach this as a hardcore criminal investigation or a police procedural novel and you'll likely be disappointed. The crime elements are not that complicated in hindsight. The prose is often nice, especially when describing feelings and relationship elements which are interwoven in the narrative. All in, this is a crime and a family story, fairly well written.
