About this ebook

It costs a lot to pay a man to stand between you and the Wild. To risk his life, and the lives of his friends, for nothing more than money. The Red Knight has sworn a vow to protect the innocent. But if he gets paid as well, that's fine...

Destined for a life of betrayal and intriuge, the Red Knight has decided to follow another path. Hired by a nunnery to protect them from an unknown terror, he and his band of mercenaries think this will be an easy job. Good food, pretty company, strong walls and good pay - what more could they want? But the threat from the Wild is more dangerous, and more wide-ranging, than they can imagine...

The first standalone novel in a five-part series of epic fantasy inspired by Arthurian legend, THE RED KNIGHT demonstrates all of Miles (Christian) Cameron's skills - fantastic characters, detailed battles inspired by his own experience as a re-enactor of medieval warfare, and political machinations which will pull the rug out from under the reader. This 10th anniversary edition features additional material and revised text.

Awful, just awful. Long, boring and tedious with nothing to hold you until the end (although to my regret I persevered). Hours and hours of my life I will not be getting back. More mistakes than I would expect from a self-published work, so I'm not sure how this made it through any kind of professional editorial process. Just a quick spell check and off for publication it seems. Of course spell check does not find correctly spelled but incorrect words... Perhaps I got the draft version?? It started okay and I expected it to build from there but it steadily declined from the opening few scenes and became a dreary slog and a showcase for the author's knowledge of all things medieval rather than his ability to write an interesting story. Look elsewhere...

Very good plot. I would call the story epic and satisfying. Characters feel real and whole and you start to wonder what they owe their flawes to. Since English isn't my first language some of the medieval warfare language was hard for me but it wasn't enough to slow the flow down. Very good book.

Overall a Very enjoyable fantasy book. Confusing that a lot of the characters names start with G, forget who is who sometimes. Some strange errors in grammar and spelling towards the end like not properly edited but doesn't take away from the fact that's its a good story.
