Marilyn Johnson
This is book 3 in the Wild at Heart Series. If you have not read the first two; Tried and True, and Now and Forever, you wont get a complete understanding about the history of these amazing women, however you will not be completely lost either. This book will revisit people from the previous ones though. If you like reading a fun, spunky series these are for you. Bailey Wilde, the oldest of the Wilde sisters and only one still single, is determined to never need a man. When Gage Coulter continues to be a thorn in her side will she be able to keep her secret and her valley? Bailey is a stubborn, independent, girl who just wants to be left alone, yet when trouble comes calling she must realize that is not what she can get. When she and Cage finally agree things really get exciting. Can Bailey keep her independence and her heart in tact? Gage Coulter is not so sure what to make of Bailey, when he discovers one of her secrets he is really baffled. Cage is a stubborn, hardworking man who is used to getting his way. When someone is trying to sabotage him and he needs Bailey's help, will he be able to find the culprit before it is to late and will Bailey agree to his most unusual request? When Cage and Bailey spend time together, sparks fly. Will they ever find the love God has in store for them or will their stubborn ways keep them from it. I love the writing style of Mary Connealy. Her characters have their own personalities and problems. You feel you are right in the mix with it all. I was given a copy of this novel from net galley for my honest opinion.

Fire and Ice by Mary Connealy is the third book in the Wild at Heart series. Fire and Ice is set in Aspen Ridge, Colorado in 1866. Bailey Wilde has built her home so it blocks the access to Gage Coulter's canyon. He owns the whole canyon, but Bailey wants it for her cattle. He never thought to purchase that rocky parcel of land that is the entrance to the canyon. Gage is determined to get access to for his cattle. Gage's mother is coming to visit. She believes that Gage is married (he told her that to keep her from visiting). Now Gage needs a wife (you know where this is going). Bailey is the closest eligible female around and it does not hurt that Gage is attracted to her feisty personality. Will Bailey be willing to help him out? Fire and Ice is a cute book but not very original. The setting of Aspen Ridge in the Rockies is just lovely, the writing is good, and the characters are interesting. I think I was at a disadvantage because I had not read the two other books in the series (I did not know it was part of a series when I picked it). In order to understand all the personal relationships and their shared histories, you really do need to read the other novels. I give Fire and Ice 3.5 out of 5 stars. I received a complimentary copy of Fire and Ice from The Book Club Network Inc. and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
