Melissa and her daughter Lexy live in a small south Texas town. Melissa is a bookkeeper for several companies. She has had a poem published, and has contributed articles in the Texas Monthly magazine, and the California Chronicle. Lexy attends school as an all “A” honor student. She was recently awarded the “Top 5th grade Achievement Award”, and “Top Interview Award” at the Distinguished Youth of Texas pageant. She hopes to one day become a Veterinarian. Melissa and Lexy love going to schools to talk to the children about animal abuse, pet adoption, and differences. Melissa and Lexy are involved in Girl Scouts, and love going to the movies. Zoe is a real earless kitten! Lexy and her mom love having Zoe as a part of their family. Zoe takes a little longer to find where a noise is coming from, but she can still hear the noise just as well as any other cat. She is a happy, healthy, rambunctious, and sometimes just a crazy little kitten! Gary Torkelson was born and raised in the California Central Valley. Gary attended Modesto Junior College, where he took classes in photography, color & design, sculpture and drawing. He later attended California State University Stanislaus, where he took his first class in oil painting, which has become his artistic media of choice. His professional career has centered around computers, cameras, advertising and computer graphics. He enjoys baseball, listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and exploring coastal beaches.
