About this ebook

Enjoy this FREE dragon rider fantasy series starter by award-winning author Richard Fierce...

Dragons can be dangerous… if you don’t bond with them first.

Eldwin wants to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a Dragon Guard, but not for the glory. With his family dead and their lands dying, the opportunity to join the dragon rider school is all he has. But before Eldwin can bond with a dragon and guard the skies, he must pass three tests to prove his worth.

Compassion, magical aptitude, and armed combat.

He’s determined to pass, but his maimed arm is a constant reminder of his disadvantage. Will the obstacles Eldwin faces keep him from reaching his dreams, or will he finally see what it’s like to ride the skies?

An ISFAB top 10 finalist!

Trial by Sorcery is the first book of the series Dragon Riders of Osnen. For fans of Sarah K.L. Wilson’s Dragon School, Jada Fisher's The Brindle Dragon series, and Eileen Mueller’s Riders of Fire series, this dragon rider adventure features a disabled main character, fast-paced action, and a reluctant hero!

PRAISE FOR THE SERIES:

I love stories about dragons and this one is great! It's the beginning of the series so we are introduced to Eldwin as he attends the school of sorcery in order to move up the ranks to become a Dragon Guard. Loads of lessons to learn and growing to do. Great story! - Angel Ballard

Awesome interesting read with treachery, twists and turns with a different take of dragons, magic, humans and presence of evil. GSPsyRose

The novel has enough twists to ensure that soon as you think you have it figured out it turns in a new direction. It is a really enjoyable read. - Frank Rocanello

It's not the best book I've read but it's pretty good. When I read the first few paragraphs I considered putting the book away and not reading it. It was "telling" more than "showing" and I felt that reflected the whole book. But I was interested in the plot so I decided to give the first chapter a chance. I'm glad I read it. The book is generally well written and the emotional connection with the characters was built right from the start. That kept me quite invested and I read it within a few hours at night. (I even cried at the end). The storyline is quite simple and I think it'd be interesting if there was more to it. Also, some questions I had were not answered. I'm assuming they'll be answered at some point in the second book. I recommend it if you're looking for something light to read and I think it's more enjoyable to read in 1 sitting than in chunks.

I love this book. This is well written and a great story. I love the narrator as well. He brings you into the story and makes you feel like you are there.
