Book 20 (can you believe it?), in PD Workman's excellent Reg Rawlins Psychic Investigator series is the intriguingly named Tainted Truffle Treachery. Reg must reluctantly work with her on-off lover Corvin Hunter, when he alerts her to the unexpected deaths of various locals. What do the police believe? As there's very little to go on, Reg and Corvin visit the bereaved families and soon notice a common link. This leads to other locations and a couple of strange encounters, before things become clearer. How will they stop the guilty? Who's the real target and why? A surprising development means Reg needs all her powers in play before the truth is revealed, and peace of mind can return to Black Sands.
