Italian Theorbo Music is a book of transcribed Theorbo works for classical guitar. The transcriptions were undertaken by renown guitarists, lute and early instrument specialist James Akers. This book contains works from three of the world's great stringed instrument composers; Kapsberger, Piccinini and Castaldi.

About the author

Critically acclaimed musician Jamie Akers was hailed as ‘the great Scottish guitarist’ by Classical Guitar Magazine and, in a review from Gramophone, his playing was described as, ‘containing all the warmth, colour and expressive richness one could hope for.’ Throughout a varied career, Jamie has explored various genres of music from a historical and stylistic perspective, combining diligent research with expressive playing to communicate the continuity of musical endeavour through the centuries.

Ged Brockie has worked as a professional musician for over thirty years and had the privilege of working with some of the finest musicians from around the world. Ged has worked in a variety of musical situations throughout Scotland, the UK and Europe.

Performance work has included Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Orchestra Royal Scottish Ballet, Carl Davis, the Scottish Guitar Quartet, concert solo/band work, tours, West End shows on tour, pro/amateur shows, music festivals, TV/radio appearances, session work, educational workshops, music industry appearances, corporate music, cover band work.
