i actually hoped they killed Sara Linton in this book. Yes i think she is a good character who brought into the series. but its more and more turning into a Sara Linton series. There is nothing left from the Will Trent we used to love from books like trypteach, broken etc etc. the early books. he is getting less time than her in the last 2 entries already and im starting to break off from the series...

Karin Slaughter is without a doubt an author who can spin a fantastic story, twists and turns and shocks keep you riveted. However, as a man it's hard to read without her clear hatred of men continually jolting you from the story. Every man is despicable in her books. Rapists, would be rapists, control freaks, bullies. The women all suffer to varying degrees from these horrible humans. I can't speculate on where she is bringing this hatred from, but if she is truly representing American men, then America has a huge problem. It's such a shame, because IMO she is a truly gifted writer.

Not for the easily offended or triggered, with the central cast collectively possessing the most colourful vocabulary imaginable as well as graphic descriptions of rape/sexual assault contained within the narrative. That said, all of the above plus the detailed description of medical/police procedure adds several layers of realism and is indicative of how well researched the story is, while the short sentence writing style ensures that events take place quick enough to keep readers hooked.
