About this ebook

Getting married to a guy I just met in Las Vegas wasn’t how I meant to prove to my family I’m a responsible adult instead of a spoiled rich girl.

My parents think my environmental endeavors are a cute distraction from getting a real job, and they want me to show I can make my way in the world without their financial support. When the company I’m working for folds while I’m on a business trip, I’m stuck with no money in Las Vegas, proving them right. Then I meet an enigmatic photographer who makes me feel legitimate, not to mentioned desired, and I do the most reckless thing ever. An impromptu Vegas wedding.

Turns out I married into an oil empire. Xander King, son of the owner of King Oil. The environmentalist and the oil heir. My father is thrilled while my humiliation knows no bounds. I don’t care how amazing the wedding night was, or how hot my new husband is, I want an annulment now.

But Xander has a second proposal. If we can stay married for a year, he’ll get a giant trust fund. After our time is up, we can divorce and I’ll get half. I’ll finally be able to take care of myself without depending on anyone. Deal.

Only the more time we spend together, the more I wonder if staying married isn’t a better option. And the harder I fall for my globe-trotting husband, the more I think the responsible thing to do is divorce. Because then at the end of the year, I won’t be left alone, feeling like a sellout with a broken heart.

King's Treasure is a standalone novel in the Oil Kings series.

She had to be crazy to ask... by and1515 Savvy truly wished people were more environmental friendly yet here she was in a big city that consumed resources like a never ending buffet. No she didn't see herself as some tree hugging environmentalist nor was she an extremist but even the smallest changes could make big impacts on the earth. Okay so her career choice wasn't one either of her parents would have chosen for her but they hadn't kicked her to the curb unlike her friend who's parents dumped him quicker then a blue light special. She knew the company they were working for was just the first stepping stone of hopefully many more. Then of course there was their awesome meeting at one of the biggest companies in town. Savvy hadn't expected the call that from there boss that left them unemployed. Now my only option isn't something I wanted but beggers can't be choosers. Xander wandered around taking random shots while his phone kept distorbing his thoughts. Family meant many things to many people he couldn't live without his but it didn't mean he had to live with either. Especially his brothers who would do anything to lure him back like an unsuspecting fish. Through his camera lens he saw something that made him stop to catch his breathe she had the bluest eyes he'd ever seen. Savvy had had quite a day especially knowing help was on its way to bail her out once again. Crazy didn't even begin to explain the words that came next. With a few quick I do's and a kiss they were off to celebrate as only newlyweds can. The following morning was filled with quite a few surprises that she never saw coming. And now she was in a bigger pickle then ever before she'd jumped from disaster to disaster like she changed shoes. Xander had the feeling she was ready to call it quits but he had other ideas. Now the path to forever wasn't by any means a smooth one it had full of plenty of doubts. but in the end he could only hope and pray she would change her mind one last time. Savvy works for a non-profit to save the environment and is in Las Vegas for a meeting that is cancelled when the company she works for goes bankrupt. Her family has money and has been supporting her and her dad wants her to work for him and marry someone he has chosen. He meets Xander, a photographer who has been traveling as a freelancer. His family also has money so he works under another name and he needs to marry to get his grandmother’s inheritance. Neither Savvy or Xander know who the other really is and they drink, become attracted, and impulsively get married. What will happen when they find out who they really married? This was a story about a couple from rich families who are free thinkers in their families but definitely lacked emotional maturity. Xander was attracted to Savvy and married her while Savvy impulsively married him because she thought he was humble and shy and she wanted to show up her family. Xander really didn’t know what he wanted to do and neither had the means to support themselves. They had a lot of growing up to do before they could hope to find happiness.
