"For it is magic, this pruning shears of revision. It really is not only the achievement of objectives, but if you do it daily, it will awaken in you the spirit of Jesus, which is continual forgiveness of sin." - The Pruning Shears of Revision
"Now when you read the story you think it happened thousands of years ago. I have come to tell you it is now. You are now in the garden of Eden, and you think you are shut out or banished. You are in it, and the garden is your mind, but you need — like every gardener — you need pruning shears. For you have slept, as you are told in that second chapter. Having slept, weeds have appeared in the garden, and the weeds are revealing themselves by the conditions and the circumstances of life. For your garden is always projecting itself on the screen of space, and you can see by looking carefully at your world what you allow to grow in the garden of God." - The Pruning Shears of Revision
"The world only bears witness of the use or misuse of imagination." - The Pruning Shears of Revision
"The world is a magic circle of infinite possible mental transformations. For there are an infinite number of possible mental conversations. When man discovers the creative power of inner talking, he will realize his function and his mission in life. Then he can act to a purpose. Without such knowledge, he acts unconsciously. Everything is a manifestation of the mental conversations which go on in us without our being aware of them. But as civilized beings, we must become aware of them and act with a purpose.
A man’s mental conversations attracts his life. As long as there is no change in his inner talking, the personal history of the man remains the same. To attempt to change the world before we change our inner talking is to struggle against the very nature of things. Man can go round and round in the same circle of disappointments and misfortunes, not seeing them as caused by his own negative inner talking, but as caused by others." - Mental Diets

Neville Lancelot Goddard (1905-1972) is an American writer and lecturer born in Barbados, the fourth child of a family of nine boys and one girl. At the age of 17, in 1922, Neville emigrated to the United States to pursue a career in entertainment.
After working as a dancer for a decade, he discovered metaphysics while on tour in England. His life took a significant turn when he met Abdullah, an Ethiopian Jewish mystic, who became his mentor and introduced him to the powers of thought and imagination.
In 1933, Neville experienced the creative power of thought when he made an unexpected trip to Barbados, despite unfavorable circumstances. This event marked the beginning of his teaching of the “Law of the Assumption” and his in-depth exploration of metaphysical interpretations of the Bible.
Neville devoted the rest of his life to teaching these principles, basing his lectures on the Bible, which he regarded not as a mere historical text, but as “the greatest scientific text ever written”. He divided his time between assiduous reading, lectures across the U.S., and sessions in Los Angeles, where he lived in the late 1950s.
His philosophy centered on the power of imagination to create reality, and he insisted on the importance of persisting faithfully in an uncompromising idea. Over the years, Neville expanded his teaching to include God's “Promise”, highlighting divine grace and spiritual fulfillment.
Neville Goddard died on October 1, 1972, in Los Angeles, but his influence lives on through his writings, lectures, and impact on contemporary figures in personal development, including Dr. Wayne Dyer.
Dr. Joseph Murphy, renowned author of “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind”, who studied with Neville in New York, already anticipated: “Neville will undoubtedly be recognized as one of the world's great mystics”. This prediction testifies to the profound impact Neville had on his contemporaries.
His legacy remains in the fundamental understanding that “imagination creates reality”, a timeless lesson that continues to inspire spiritual students around the world. This idea transcends the boundaries of time and space, underscoring the continuing relevance of Neville's teachings in the quest for personal and spiritual fulfillment.
