Tulsidas, also known as Goswami Tulsidas, was born in 1532 or 1533 in Rajapur, a village in the present-day Uttar Pradesh, India. His parents were Hulsi and Atmaram Dubey. Tulsidas is best known for his work on the Hindu epic Ramayana, particularly the Ramcharitmanas, which is a retelling of the Ramayana in Awadhi language.
