This is the 1st book I've read written by Scarlett Finn; I can’t wait to read more of her books. This is the 1st book in the Kindred Series; it is a stand-alone book. After her date gets killed right before her eyes, Zara goes home to find an intruder in her home. Raven is mysterious and keeps you guessing what’s going to happen next. I received a free copy of this book via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.

the characters are nuanced and very well developed. The emotions and the "sex" are steamy. The plotting is smooth and effortless. But 'The Kindred? That is so clichéd, so trite, so dated. Terrorists? After Gaza, we have to ask if the "terrorists' are Mossad, IDF or CIA because there is now a new definition and a new and widespread understanding of who terrorists really and what they do and why and to whom. Not to mention whom they test out their weapons on. No! This just sounds hokey, naive, and ridiculous and very, very, very dated. What a waste of a really great talent. The author can obviously do much better. A rewrite is in order.

An intriguing storyline with interesting characters and a determined young woman who meets a very compelling man. The story has a good vibe and held my interest throughout. I requested a copy of this book and am voluntarily writing a review.
