This is an entertaining & enjoyable quick read & it's obvious that the writer did their background research, (of the time period), well. The lead male characters are beautifully depicted & I know I'll read this story again.

Sensual & spooky, I couldn't put this story down! I loved watching Alastair and Jude's relationship evolve through the crucible of a single night. The characters—even those we see less of, like Alastair's sister Viola—jumped right off the page, and the lusciously detailed world was a character in and of itself. I appreciate that the protagonists' desires are not without risk—a realistic fear given their world. Finally, the supernatural force stalking them kept me on my toes...but surprised me in the end!

The love between Alistair and Jude is similar to the love I share with my Harry. Only we attempted we did not follow through with the love making. We went our separate ways, but when we found each other again. The love we have is so strong, my Alistair is afraid. He is so strong and he is very handsome. I love him deeply.
