About this ebook

Her fate lies in her family's legacy...

A mysterious phone call leads to clues about her past... and lands her in trouble.

The instructions were clear. Book the first flight to Venice, Italy. Pick up a package bequeathed to her from her grandfather, who'd died mysteriously over half a century earlier. Then, leave the box unopened until she's back in New York.

Soon after Serenity Blake steps foot in Italy, she stumbles on a missing person's case and a cryptic clue that might unlock long-buried, dark family secrets. This leaves her with two choices: go home empty-handed, or stay and go down a rabbit hole that could lead to a dangerous world of dark magic, conspiracies, and secrets.

With the help of a few dearly departed and living human companions, she might just get the answers she's seeking ... if she doesn't get killed first.

Mystery, ghosts, and magic collide in this wicked fun first instalment of a paranormal action and adventure series.

If you enjoyed movies and series like Tomb Raider, The Librarian, Indiana Jones, and The Ghost Whisperer, you'll love Serenity Blake!

The Relic Hunter Prequel . . . Serenity Blake went out for an evening jog and came upon a confrontation of 3 thugs and a couple they were harassing. A tough sassy lady, Serenity had sufficient weapons concealed on her to make her a lethal force to be reckoned with. She only regretted not having room enough to carry a hidden sword. And if she needed a gun, she would simply take the attacker’s gun, knife, or dagger. Are you getting the idea yet? Serenity saw one attacker had a knife, one a gun, and one a shank. She made two packed snowballs and, asking them for a light, moved closer and deftly threw one after the other, effectively hitting two in the groin and doubling them over. Then she pulled out the nunchucks, made a few warm-up moves to intimidate them, selected the toughest, and as he took a punch at her, she battered his knuckles, spun, and kicked him in the face to break his nose as he toppled over in the snow. She turned to the gunman and said, “You’re next.” The throwing star she threw wounded his hand and he dropped the gun, crying in pain. She had decided to leave all his fingers, so he really should be grateful, although she warned him he would lose his pinky if he touched the gun. She took out the third while the first tried to sneak up on her. She got him too and he fell on top of the other guy. The gunman looked over longingly at his gun, so she dismantled it and threw it in a trashcan nearby, then kindly told the couple they were safe to leave now. This brilliant introduction puts the rest of the prequel in perspective. Serenity gets instructions to go to Venice, Italy, to get a package bequeathed to her from her grandfather who had died many years ago. She was to leave the box sealed and return to New York. But a missing person's case and a cryptic clue about buried family secrets tempts her to stay. Serenity can talk to ghosts, so with their help, she is ready for a major adventure as she seeks the answers she needs. Serenity Blake: A Paranormal Relic Hunters Prequel is an entertaining start to this series. Though not full of action and adventure, these elements will have to come in future books in the series. What this book is full of mystery and a bit of suspense. Serenity and her BFF Zelana are an unlikely pair. Along with long-time friend Alistair, you just know trouble is going to find them. Throw in Serenity's assistant, Darcy, her IT geek, Danny, and the mysterious Mr. Crowley, and you have characters that keep the storyline engaging and exciting. Crowley and Serenity's unique gifts add the right amount of paranormal nuance and lead to some humorous moments. Serenity Blake: A Paranormal Relic Hunters Prequel is a fun read. Although this book has mystery and a little suspense, it seems to serve only as an introduction. Future books in the series will need to deliver on the action, suspense, mystery (and maybe a little romance). I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Serenity Blake has "gifts" (or so she's been told) I wasn’t sure about this book from a new to me author but it was terrific. Grabbed you from the beginning and took you on a ride. Basic premise is she’s a “good” girl who tries to do the right thing and follows the rules but there are no rules on this adventure. Paranormal elements were fun. Serenity is a bada*s with mean fighting skills and a gift she isn’t sure is really a gift. Excellent adventure and I look forward to more books in this series.
