Roy Hession, a successful evangelist in England, knew he had lost the power of the Spirit in his life—a terrible feeling as he led his evangelistic campaigns. In 1947, after meeting leaders of the East African Church, he recognized a deep personal need. He first published the principles the Lord taught him from this experience as The Calvary Road. He wrote the companion book, We Would See Jesus, in partnership with his wife, Revel. Described as the “inspirer, adviser, and trusted colleague” in all that God gave Roy to do, Revel played a major role in Roy’s evangelistic work and in their monthly paper called Challenge.
