About the author
Homère, le plus grand poète épique grec, vécut sans doute au IXe siècle avant J.-C. On sait sur lui peu de choses : on le croit né à Smyrne (Turquie actuelle), on le présume aveugle et l'on suppose que, comme la plupart des poètes de son temps, il menait une vie errante.
