About this ebook

Never pretty enough to please her gorgeous mother, Allie will do anything to gain her approval--even marry a man she doesn't love. Lt. Walter Novak--fearless in the cockpit but hopeless with women--takes his last furlough at home in California before being shipped overseas. Walt and Allie meet at a wedding and their love of music draws them together, prompting them to begin a correspondence that will change their lives. As letters fly between Walt's muddy bomber base in England and Allie's mansion in an orange grove, their friendship binds them together. But can they untangle the secrets, commitments, and expectations that keep them apart?
A Distant Melody is the first book in the WINGS OF GLORY series, which follows the three Novak brothers, B-17 bomber pilots with the US Eighth Air Force stationed in England during World War II.

While I usually love Sarah Sundin's books and this one is well done, the love triangle within the story is a trope I typically avoid. It was still a good story, just not my favorite. What you'll find inside: 🤎WWII 🤎love triangle 🤎 Army air force, Red Cross volunteer 🤎 Letter correspondence 🤎Set in England and US 🤎 Clean storyline 🤎 Christian characters and lessons What I loved: 🤎Allie's personal growth and determination to obey God rather than man. 🤎 The friendships and loss within the military 🤎Walt's loyalty and devotion to his men

I couldn't go to sleep without finishing this book. True love is so rare in today's stories. All too common for the characters to jump into bed based on looks and how much they "want" each other.

UNBELIEVABLE! it was SO good. i am so sad the book ended. I'm actually choked up and teary-eyed about the multitude of themes and impacts. It really provoked some deep inspiration in me. GOD has used this novel to soothe my own broken heart and wartorn soul. Please write more!
