The police aren't worried - it's just a game. But the families are frantic. As psychologist and private detective Dr Augusta Bloom delves into the lives of the missing people, she finds something that binds them all.

And that something makes them very dangerous indeed.

As more disappearances are reported and new birthday cards uncovered, Dr Bloom races to unravel the mystery and find the missing people.

But what if, this time, they are the ones she should fear?

Can't read this ebook - literally! The size of the text cannot be enlarged. It is too small to read. I have not experienced this before - please fix it Google Play!

Oh boy what a sensational book this is. It is a compelling story, that had me gripped right from the start and kept me enthralled right till the jaw dropping conclusion. It is an amazing thriller debut, that had me both riveted and terrified at the same time. In the world we live in today, this game could actually be getting played right now as I am writing this!! 😳 The main plot of the story is so unique. Men and women are being recruited to play a “game” but it is not just any game and the people being recruited are not your everyday normal people. They all have a trait in common and it’s not a great one! There is also a subplot that is set in the past which compliments the main plot well. The characters in this story have been written extremely well and are well developed. The standouts for me were Dr Augusta Bloom and Seraphine. Leona has created two characters where one is honourable while the other just chills you to the bone. I am not likely to forget the one that chills you to the bone let me tell ya! They are the stuff that nightmares are made of! I really enjoyed Leona’s writing style. As a psychologist, Leona definitely knows her stuff and has used this knowledge extremely well, not just in the character of psychologist Dr Augusta Bloom, but also the science behind the game and how she goes into the mind of its players and believe me there are some scary characters in this book. It is a slow burn, but is not too drawn out and for me it was the perfect pace. Throughout the book the tension slowly keeps building until the explosive finale, where I was then able to relax again. This book is definitely a heart pounder! I really loved it and I highly recommend it. I am also really excited to see that there is going to be another book featuring Dr Augusta Bloom. Titled “Lost”, this is due to be released on the 2nd of April 2020. Although a long way off, I am really looking forward to this. Thank-you to Transworld Books, Leona Deakin and Hayley Barnes for the advanced copy of Gone which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
