Bobbing on Candlefly Lake: Magical Mystery Adventure

There are a lot of things from my childhood at Candlefly Lake that, at the time, felt magical to me. Memories acknowledged with a child’s easy acceptance bear a unique kind of charm. But as my childhood memories were dragged through the filter of an adult’s rigid practicality…magic was, necessarily, rejected. Transforming it from reality into a situation that must have been misunderstood.

Growing up along its gentle shores, I’d never believed Candlefly Lake would lose its magic. I’d been right. And I’d been wrong.
