My first exposure to Lin Carter, i expected a bit of intolerably campy pastiche. Maybe it is a bit campy (and maybe it isn't), but he writes a fast-paced, easy-to-read adventure, well-suited to a generation (mine!) which grew up with more films than books. Pleasantly surprised with the story, and at a negligible price. All of the Megapack books include a note about reporting typos and such to the publishers: they DO respond to such mails (very quickly, in my experience) and actively work to improve OCR-related mistakes (of which there are relatively few very minor ones) and similar problems.
