About this ebook

'My heart felt heavy with sadness for these two little girls.'

Foster carer Maggie Hartley is used to all manner of children arriving on her doorstep, but nothing can prepare her for sisters Billy and Bo when they arrive at her home. It is clear from the moment she sets eyes on them four-year-old Bo and seven-year-old Billy have clearly been subjected to unimaginable neglect, and it takes all of Maggie's skills as a foster carer to try to connect with the volatile little girls, who seem far younger than their years.

Over time, the little girls slowly emerge from their shells, and Maggie begins the difficult task of trying to gain their trust. But as time goes on, it becomes clear that there is something much darker going on, something that will call into question everything Maggie has ever learned in all her years as a foster carer...

A true story of hope from Sunday Times bestselling author Maggie Hartley, a foster carer for over 20 years.

Grrrrrr!.... I honestly don't know how to rate this book... On the one hand I absolutely loved hearing about Natalie and I thought how well it was all written you can feel how real it was for them and I was very interested to hear that young Natalie got reunited with her remaining family and can look forward to a different but happy future ❤️ Was truly touched following Louisa's story... No one should have to go through that... 😓😓 Baby Dominic 💙 Then on the other hand...... ✋️ 🤚 Detailed sexual abuse between young children very graphic and disturbing and should of been alot more warning... I think the Natalie and Louisa story should of been kept seperate and would of happily gave 5 stars but as it is with the horrific sexual abuse details was to much without pre-warning and it made me really angry 😡😡 The school was not notified sooner and there was alot smaller innocent children in Billies class who could of gone through the same and Billie was also a victim so sad 🌟🌟😓😓

About the author

Maggie Hartley has fostered more than 300 children while being a foster carer for over twenty years. Taking on the children other carers often can't cope with, Maggie helps children that are deemed 'unadoptable' because of their behaviour or the extreme trauma that they've been through.
