About this ebook

SHE DOESN'T NEED HIS KIND OF TROUBLE...

The last thing Phoebe Tyler needs is the damned sheriff complicating her life. The sheriff of Masterson County had always meant trouble—especially for the Tylers of Tyler Township. She has to focus on helping her widowed father run their struggling ranch and raise her younger brothers. When the sheriff shows up with her teenage brother, Phoebe knows more problems are right behind him.

HE HAS A JOB TO DO NOW.

Sheriff Joel Masterson has an entire county depending on him to keep them safe. He doesn’t need more trouble with the rabble-rousing Tylers. But once he gets a good look at the eldest Tyler daughter, things get complicated. Real complicated—real quick.

Now Joel doesn’t mind trouble—at least…not Phoebe’s kind. But real trouble has a way of finding all the Tylers sooner or later. Phoebe is no exception.

But this time the sheriff might not be enough to keep Phoebe safe, after all…

SEEKING THE SHERIFF is a shorter length small-town western romantic suspense and part of the Masterson County connected stand-alone series. The Masterson County series contains scenes of violence, adventure, occasional dark criminal behavior, moderate cursing—especially by villains, a few mild-to-moderate love scenes, and references to subject matter that may distress some readers. The Masterson County books contain the same level of descriptive content as a typical crime drama on network television—but good always wins out in the end, guaranteed.

The plot was okay and the sex scenes as mild as you can get in this day and time. But I am a writer too and kept seeing problems. She used a lot of cliches, like "seven ways from Sunday". Writers are suppose to show rather than tell. For instant, she says that he weighs 250 lb, when she could have said something like, "his 250 lb was not fat, but muscle". She also uses a lot of passive verbs (was, were, be) rather than active verbs. Profanity would not have been needed if she did like Steve Martin in a movie where he was a fireman with a long nose.

Only one short sex scene..characters say only one curse word but often. Story was great, I was surprised close to the end about something that happens to Phoebe, her sisters & Joel's brothers had enough grit to make them believable. Will definitely look for next book in the series.
