About this ebook

A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The jaw-dropping exposé on how America's fast food industry has shaped the landscape of America.

This fascinating study reveals how the fast food industry has altered the landscape of America, widened the gap between rich and poor, fueled an epidemic of obesity, and transformed food production throughout the world. Eric Schlosser inspires readers to look beneath the surface of our food system, consider its impact on society and, most of all, think for themselves. This book has changed the way millions of people think about what they eat and helped to launch today’s food movement.

I was required to buy and read parts of this book for school. Reading even a page infuriated me. The organization is horrible. It takes forever to even get to the point. The terms are unclear as well. While most people know what "fast food" refers to, the wording is confusing. Sometimes it seems like he's talking about candy toy find at stores, and other times he's talking about McDonald's, Burger King, etc. Don't waste your money. I got $4 off and it still wasn't worth it. The B I got on the quiz was not worth it. Not even an A would have been worth it. I now have a migraine and can't even finish my school work because of this confusing book.

Opened my eyes a lot on the food industries, obviously mainly focused on the "fast foods" aspect. Highly, highly recommended.
